Charles E. Griffin, Sr.
Mr. Griffin is a Mississippi native who was admitted to the
Mississippi Bar in 1988. Mr. Griffin attended Tougaloo College
and the University of Mississippi. He received his B.A. (1984)
and J.D. (1987) (Eastland Scholar) from the University of
Mississippi.
Prior to graduation from law school, Mr. Griffin
served as a Congressional Intern in the United States House of
Representatives. After graduation from law school, Mr. Griffin
was a Special Assistant Attorney General assigned as Counsel for the
Mississippi Department of Energy and Transportation (now a division
of the Mississippi Department of Economic Development).
In addition to his experience in state government,
Mr. Griffin has served as a Municipal Prosecutor, Municipal Public
Defender, City Attorney and City Court Judge. Mr. Griffin also
served several years as General Counsel for the Mississippi
Democratic Party. He is a former member of the Board of
Directors of Mary Holmes Junior College and North Mississippi Rural
Legal Services. He has served as an instructor on the staff of
Jackson State University. Mr. Griffin was one of the
original members, and Co-Chairman, of the Mississippi Bar
Association's Law Student Diversity Interaction Program.
Mr. Griffin has represented clients at all
Mississippi trial court levels. He has also represented
clients before the Mississippi Supreme Court, Mississippi Court of
Appeals, Mississippi's Federal District Courts, Judicial Panel on
Multi-District Litigation, Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, Federal
Election Commission, Securities and Exchange Commission, Mississippi
Gaming Commission, Mississippi Employee Appeals Board, Mississippi
Employment Security Commission and a number of other boards and
commissions.
In addition to being a member of the Mississippi
Bar, Mr. Griffin is a former Chairman of the Gaming Law Section of
the Bar. He is also a member of the National Bar Association,
Commercial Law Section of the NBA, American Bar Association, Tort
and Insurance Law Section of the ABA, Hinds County Bar Association
and the Defense Research Institute, Insurance Law Committee of DRI,
Trial Tactics Committee of DRI, Commercial Litigation Committee of
DRI.
Mr. Griffin's practice areas include commercial
litigation, insurance, consumer fraud, consumer finance, products
liability, premises liability and health care negligence.
Mr. Griffin is routinely asked to serve as lead trial counsel in
high stakes civil litigation. He has been designated as an
expert in insurance law and has spoken at American Bar Association -
American Law Institute national seminars on the topic of insurance
litigation. Mr. Griffin has also been a nationally recognized
speaker on issues of electronic gaming and electronically stored
information discovery.
Mr. Griffin has tried numerous cases to verdict and
was named one of the top fifty lawyers in Mississippi in the 2006
Southeast Edition of Super Lawyers Magazine. He was also named
in the top ten Mississippi lawyers in the insurance law section of
the same publication.
Howard Brown
Mr. Brown is a graduate of Mississippi State
University (B.A. 1992) and the University of Mississippi (J.D.1995). Mr. Brown is a member of the Mississippi Bar, the
American Bar Association, National Bar Association, Magnolia Bar
Association, the Hinds County Bar Association, the Defense Research
Institute, Insurance Law Committee of DRI, Trial Tactics Committee
of DRI, Commercial Litigation Committee of DRI.
Mr. Brown's practice includes commercial litigation,
general litigation, insurance law, premises liability and criminal
law.
Jacob M. Jenkins
Mr. Jenkins is a graduate of East Central Community
College, A.A. (1998) and the University of Mississippi, B.A. (2000),
J.D. (2003). Mr. Jenkins is licensed to practice before all of
Mississippi's state and federal courts and the Fifth Circuit Court
of Appeals. He is a member of the Mississippi Bar, the
American Bar Association, Litigation and Insurance Practice Section
of the ABA and the Young Lawyers Division of the ABA.
Mr. Jenkins is a member of the Mississippi Defense
Lawyers Association, the Defense Research Institute, Insurance Law
Committee of DRI, Trial Tactics Committee of DRI, Commercial
Litigation Committee of DRI and the Young Lawyers Committee of DRI.
Mr. Jenkins' practice areas include insurance
litigation, personal injury litigation, general commercial
litigation and criminal litigation. Mr. Jenkins has
significant criminal trial experience.
